Back to school craziness

With all the craziness that goes on for families during back-to-school time, I figured I would share my Universal Cookie Dough recipe with you guys. As you can tell, I didn't post anything the last few weeks. I fell into the chaos that is the end of summer activities and family time. Everyone is prone to being dragged into the hustle & bustle of family life, so thank you for baring with me on this blog adventure while still trying to maintain home life. The kid shuffle is not joke (activities, different schools/interests, moodiness, etc.) so I applaud anyone who does this on the daily!

But let's get bake to the cookie dough recipe I was talking about. You can use it for sugar cookies, thumbprint cookies, icebox cookies, or jam striped cookies. This is perfect for those family where their kids can't agree on one type of cookie (like that would ever happen, right). It can be made ahead of time and lasts int he freezer for up to 3 months! Let's be honest, who has ever had cookie dough made and ready to go last that long in the freezer?? Not in the house, that's for sure! But with the back-to-school shuffle in full swing it definitely makes baking treats for the kiddos a lot easier, because you can make the dough one day (let's say while the kids are at school) and use it when you want to. Thus, the convenience of storing it in the freezer or fridge for when you need it. Last minute bake sale, or class party this recipe will have you covered. In the recipe section you will find the dough recipe as well as two of the ways you can prepare this dough for cookie variations. Check back tomorrow for when I upload the third way, I like to use this recipe. Happy baking.
